Research in interweaving - emptiness, fullness / Medium textile installations and embodied performance related to QiGong and gestures in the weaving technique.

“The practice of the Artist Elise Peroi feeds on the weaving technique, and this craft where the act of making can be perceived as a dance has lead her to think about the importance of the body, gestures repeating themselves, and time passing by.

This relationship with the dimension of time, of space, of movement results in the creation of moving parts which vibrate together and feed on elements that surround them.

The installations presented here reproduce the inter-relationship between the elements and the emotions that the vision of a landscape can instill in us.

The rythm game introduced by the vibres’ variation in density takes us back to alterning opposites, emptiness, fullness, permanency, impermanence, movement, stillness. The artist’s research expands beyond the Western definition of landscape which tends to fix it in space like a panorama.”
